Children’s Dentistry

Visiting the dentist shouldn’t be scary - it should be fun! Let us show you how!

When should I bring my kids to the dentist?

We recommend that you bring your child to the dentist for their first visit at the age of 1 or within 6 months of their first tooth erupting into their mouth.

Can you imagine a world where kids grow up without fearing the dentist? A world where kids don’t suffer from tooth decay? We can!

At Method Dental you’ll bring your kids into a fun, relaxed dental environment where they can learn that they are in a safe place where health is a priority. We can catch problems like tooth decay or developmental issues at the earliest possible stages. And, you’ll receive the best preventative advice, so that together, we can help give your child the best chance to avoid the need to ever have dental treatment.

OUR APPROACH

We use a strategy where we tell kids what we are going to do, then show them what we are going to do and then we actually do it! It's called "Tell-Show-Do" and we find that most children respond really well to being involved in their care. By engaging their attention and allowing them to feel in control, your child will feel more at ease and hopefully, learn to trust the dentist.

We also have a TV on the ceiling so they can watch their favourite show, we have special flavours of our preventative polishing paste and we reward them with a little bag of goodies at the end of the appointment!

Our Mission

Children's dentistry is really important to us and we actively focus on making it better at Method Dental and in our community. Some of our initiatives include:

  • Visiting local schools and day care centres to provide education about oral health and healthy diets
  • Our Facebook and Instagram pages are always being updated with the best in preventative tips and tricks for parents
  • We focus on building relationships with children and getting to know them so they can learn to trust us over time
  • Our fees for children are reduced to enable as many parents as possible to afford dental service
  • For children under three, we provide preventative oral examinations and advice free of charge!

When we welcome your family into ours at Method Dental, you'll benefit from all of these initiatives. You'll be part of a movement that builds a generation of children growing up with fewer dental problems and less dental fear!

Method Dental proudly bulk-bills the Medicare Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS). The CDBS is a Medicare program that provides financial support for dental treatment on eligible children who are aged between 2 and 17. To qualify, you (the parent, carer, guardian) or the child must receive certain payments for at least part of the calendar year from the government e.g Family Tax Benefit A. The CDBS includes $1000 over 2 calendar years, and can be used on general dental services, including preventative and restorative services.

Please contact Method Dental on (07) 3188 5183 and have your Medicare card number ready so we can help you to check whether your child is eligible!
